Induction Experience
1) Grace Fitzpatrick High School Art 1 - All Grades
2) My induction experience exposed me to various techniques, strategies, and resources related to the education profession. It provided me with a set task to focus on and apply within my classroom. It brought back memories of student teaching, in that it had a list of expectations and called for frequent reflections on the process. Though there were said tasks to complete, I did enjoy that I had space to take each task in my desired direction.
3) I feel that I have grown the most in my ability to reach out to all learners, be it an IB senior with a talented natural skillset in the arts, or a highly energetic freshman who has never picked up a pencil with the intent to draw.
4) I tried the "No warnings" strategy. This strategy helps to alleviate issues while they are at the minor stage, before they continue, escalate, and become severe.
5) See project examples to view student success or achievement within their artwork
6) Next year, I will be teaching freshman focus (emphasizing in an art career), in addition to my current art classes. I will also be attending graduate school and working on my networking skills in the art industry.
I am very excited about this opportunity to expand my own knowledge base in regards to the various resources I will be exposed to (CTSP 6). I am going to continue building upon my classroom management skills by providing clear expectations, setting these expectations early-on, and staying consistent to the consequences of violations.
